Christina Burton(Camardo) - Director of Bands

Christina Burton joined the Taylor High School band staff in the summer of 2017 as assistant director. Prior to joining the Three Rivers Staff, Mrs. Burton taught general music and band at St. Jude School from 2012-2017.  In Spring 2018, Mrs. Burton stepped into the role as Director of Bands. Mrs. Burton received her Bachelors in Music Education from The University of Kentucky in 2012. While at UK, she was Head Drum Major of the Marching Band, an active member of the UK Pep Band and recognized as the outstanding graduate from the College of Fine Arts.

In 2019, Mrs. Burton received the Teacher of the Year Award from the Three Rivers School District. 

Mrs. Burton actively performs around the Cincinnati area as a member of the Ohio Military Band where she plays clarinet. Her professional affiliations include being a member of OMEA. 

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends.

Kevin Sucher- Assistant Band Director

Kevin Sucher has served as Choir and Assistant band director of the Three Rivers School District since 2018. His teaching duties include 6th grade band, 7th grade band, 8th Grade chorus, Women’s Choir, Men’s choir, and Senior Choir.

In addition to teaching at Three Rivers, Mr. Sucher serves as the Tuba and Euphonium Professor at the College of Mount Saint Joseph. Mr. Sucher holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Morehead State University where he was a performing member of the international performing Symphonic Band.

Prior to his appointment at Three Rivers Mr. Sucher served as Choir and Band Director at Manchester High School, in Manchester, Ohio. Mr.Sucher maintains a very active time performing with groups around Cincinnati. Currently, he is a member of the Fillmore Wind band who has performed at the 2020 OMEA convention and will be performing at Carnegie Hall in New York.

His professional associations include the International Tuba Euphonium Association(ITEA), and The Ohio Music Educators Association (OMEA). Mr. Sucher is also a member of Phi Mu Alpha.

In his free time, Mr. Sucher enjoys spending time with his wife Audrey and dog Scout. 

Josh Schanie- Visual Director

Joshua Schanie is from Hamilton, OH, and is currently finishing up his degree in Music Performance- Trombone at Miami University (OH). At Miami, Joshua was involved in several ensembles including but not limited to the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Trombone Choir, Jazz Ensemble, and Marching Band.

He was blessed with the opportunity to march with two drum bugle corps within the DCI circuit: Blue Stars (2018) and Boston Crusaders (2019). This is where Joshua’s passion for higher education in the marching arts began. He began teaching marching band in 2017 at his alma mater, Hamilton High School. While there the group experienced unprecedented success receiving a Superior rating at OMEA State Finals for the first time while also winning their highest placement at Bands of America Grand National Championships. Joshua also became the director of the school’s first Indoor Winds group which competed in the MEPA Circuit.

Joshua’s other activities include playing in the Richmond Jazz Orchestra, teaching one on one brass lessons, and walking his three dogs: Max, Socks, and Olivia. Joshua is currently preparing to audition for grad schools and is excited to be the new Visual Coordinator for The Taylor High School Yellow Jacket Marching Band!

Danny Groh- Percussion Instructor

Danny Groh has been playing drum set since he was a child. He began studying guitar at 11 years old, and later bass at 13. Throughout adolescence drum set was always his main focus, playing his first professional gig at the age of 13. This led him to study at the prestigious College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. He majored in Jazz Studies on drum set, and worked under the tutelage of Cincinnati legend John von Olen, while taking private lessons with the formidable Art Gore. After a few years at C.C.M. Danny pursued playing and teaching throughout the city. Since then he has amassed a deep background as a performer and educator, playing and touring throughout the Midwest as a drummer and bassist.

He began teaching high school percussion and giving private lessons in 2012. Since then he has worked with 7 band programs in southern Ohio and teaches nearly 25 private students a week. He currently works as a battery technician for Triple Crown Percussion and Cincinnati Tradition Drum and Bugle Corps. Aside from his experience as a professional musician, Danny’s passion for performing is deeply rooted in the world of marching percussion. He began his W.G.I. career with Connexus Percussion, and went on to march three years with Cap City Percussion, aging out as a World class finalist in 2017. Danny marched D.C.I. with the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps. in 2016. During his time at the Conservatory he was a part of the University of Cincinnati Marching Band for two years. Danny credits his time spent performing as a crucial part in forming the percussionist and educator he is today.

Chris Pauley- Color Guard Instructor

Chris Pauley is from Chesapeake, OH and graduated in 2018. While in school, Chris was a member of the CHS Marching Band from 2013-2017 and a member of the color guard from 2014-2017.

Chris’s passion for performance started at Vertigo Independent A in 2016. He has since marched Lexis World Class Winterguard, Raiders Drum Corps (2016, 2018) and Spartans Drum Corps (2019). Chris enjoys painting and spinning something in the front yard during his free time!
